Story of the piece:
It looks drinkable. It absolutely is not.
This Old Fashioned is made entirely as a display piece, from the amber cocktail and melting-looking ice to the cherry, curled orange peel and cinnamon stick.
I wanted this one to hold up from close range, not just look convincing in a photograph. The cherry was cast in a mold I made from a real cherry. The orange peel and cinnamon were made separately in resin, then everything was assembled into the finished cocktail.
The result is a full-size Old Fashioned that looks strangely real sitting on a bar cart, shelf or desk — until you get close enough to realize the drink isn’t going anywhere.
